Baltic Circle ry is a progressive organisation in the field of performing arts. The association organizes the Baltic Circle Festival annually in November in Helsinki and the metropolitan area. In addition to the festival, Baltic Circle restores water systems, participates in cultural policy, and creates more sustainable structures for the arts. The working environment is international and ambitious, with a supportive and skilled team.

Baltic Circle is led by a Managing Director and an Artistic Director. The Managing Director is responsible for the administration, financing, and personnel management of the association. Tasks include developing local and international projects and networks, representative duties, and planning and managing the production and program structure in collaboration with the Artistic Director. Emphases and detailed task allocation are agreed upon separately.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of association operations and art financing structures in the Finnish context, an interest in developing the association’s activities, and experience in personnel and project management, as well as budgeting. Experience in multidisciplinary networks, international projects, and event production is considered an advantage. The working language of the association is English. Knowledge of the Finnish language is beneficial but not mandatory.

Applicants should have a university degree or equivalent work experience. The workplace is located on Töölönkatu in Helsinki. The position involves travel in Finland and abroad and includes evening and weekend work.

The employment contract for the Managing Director is initially permanent and full-time, but negotiable if needed. The probationary period is six months. The salary is determined based on experience, ranging from 3600 to 3800 euros per month. The position starts according to the agreement, but no later than April 1, 2024.
