Baltic Circle to collaborate with the Landscape Rewilding programme
Baltic Circle has started a collaboration with the Landscape Rewilding programme, which is operated in Finland by the non-profit cooperative Snowchange. Through the collaboration, Baltic Circle has been granted its own dedicated nature restoration location in Ähtäri called Oravasuo. The festival follows and supports the protection and rewilding efforts of this location.

Baltic Circle Festival Embraces the Incomprehensible
The 16th edition of Baltic Circle International Theatre Festival takes place in Helsinki, Finland, November 12-17, 2019. Its performances and events offers perspectives on the unknown and change. The festival programme also features a discussion exploring indigenous rights and resisting the industrial exploitation of Sápmi, as well as a new independent journalistic work.
Hanna Parry appointed Artistic Director of Baltic Circle Festival
The board of Q-teatteri ry has appointed Hanna Parry Artistic Director of Baltic Circle Festival starting from 2020. She has worked broadly within performing arts both locally and internationally in programming and production.
The Almost Familiar
Baltic Circle's communication assistant Jannika Lalu took the tube to Kulosaari and met with people behind the piece Thresholds. A research project that gained some attention in the media a few years back, examining the uncanny experiences of people in everyday settings, takes a new form in a performance by a pan-Nordic group of artists. The piece, which is located in a soon-to-be-torn-down mall, calls for gentleness and openness in front of the strange.
